For the first time since moving to Florida I feel like I was given truthful, manageable solutions for my AC issue! I was able to see and understand exactly why my AC wasn’t blowing cold air, was given multiple different options for repairing and maintaining, as well as offered suggestions for a more efficient system in the future. I’m now confident, because of the annual membership I purchased, that the next year will be nice and cool. And if any problems arise I can count on this company to fix it up without giving me the run around.
Wade is always amazing and very knowledgeable. We request him every time and are extremely happy with the service and maintenance of this company. 10/10 would recommend.
I needed an emergency installation of AC as my 12 yr old unit was leaking. A friends company recommended Total Air as I was new to town and I will never regret calling them. The sales ppl came quickly and the installation of the new unit was quick as I was going out of town. The follow up service and maintenance is exceptional. The technicians I have dealt with are nothing but superb in their knowledge and job performance. I am 1000% satisfied with Total Air!!
Wade was very nice but was at our home for about 4 total hours to fix a floater switch and unclog our drain. He also washed his tools in our bathtub without asking permission or telling us he was doing that and left a dirty mess in our tub and bathroom. Not sure if he was new as he had to make several calls during his visit to our home, but wound not not want him to return for our AC needs.
The technician came did a good job and was very efficient.
Anthony definitely knew what he was doing and was very pleasant to have in our home.
Wade is extremely experienced. Knows his stuff. Excellent service.
Arrived to call perform diagnostic found AirHandler running condenser not running, due to burnt high voltage wires found dead capacitor and wires to Contactor burnt. I return to perform recommended repair of evaporator coil replacement. I vacuumed the system down to 400 µm after pressure testing the system. Recharge the system to achieve a 9 to 10° superheat.
Called out today due to no cooling. Upon arrival client stated that she changed the settings on her thermostat when she noticed the system wasn’t working. Checked all electronics and motor components. I found that the drain line was impacted and tripped the float switch. Flushed the drain line with solvent and hot water. Measured the temperature drop across the coil. Outside I checked refrigerant pressures. Took amp draws. Tested capacitor. Vacuumed drain line from outdoor port. Equipment is operating properly at this time. Thank you for always choosing Total Air!
Called out today due to no cooling. Upon arrival client stated that there was no air coming through the vents. Checked all electronics and motor components. I found that the variable speed motor has failed. Condenser fan motor squeals when running. Filter is impacted. I was unable to check refrigerant pressures due to the fan not working. I gave the option to order the non warranty fan motor. Due to the extensive cost of the repair and the age of the machine. The homeowner would like a quote for replacement. Replacement does come with a 10 year manufacture parts warranty. This machine is at the end of it’s lifespan and has a major repair needed. Made homeowner aware that even if we make the repair.. this machine still has 25+ other components of the same age. This repair does not add life to the machine, it only fixes the initial problem. Left system off at outdoor disconnect. Chris will be here within the hour to give options for replacement. Thank you for always choosing
$39.00 on time system check Performed a system check on a 2018 Trane package unit which included verify, the overall operation of thermostat, check the filter, inspected the system for cleanliness, wash the outdoor coils, verified refrigerant pressures and amps on all motors. Inspected the capacitor & contactor. Thank you for choosing Total Air…. The drain line is not connected to the package unit and from the install the drain line and evaporator cools are not assessable. The compressor is over amp on LRA and needs a hard start kit and the condenser coils need to be cleaned. Blockage across the outdoor coils.
04/20/24 - Client was concerned that the upstairs is not cooling properly. I’ve verified refrigerant and temperature coming out of the supply only a 67° temperature was achieved. Refrigerant pressure show a liquid line restriction in the TXV & filter drier. Rusted deteriorating of evaporators detected. Recommend replacing the whole evaporator coil with TXV because of the condition of the evaporator coil. Also, sludging found in the evaporator coil, drain pan and drain line. I recommended a chemical drain line treatment be performed and add a drain guard to the system. Thank you for choosing Total Air……….. 04/20/24 - DISPATCH PLEASE order the evap coil w/TXV & filter drier. PLEASE create a part-return for us to complete the work & inform the client when we will return. ALSO, part return includes adding a SINGLE UV KIT to the LOWER COIL & a chemical drain line treatment w/pan tablets & a drain guard….(mostly truck stock except the coil)….😎 Removed evaporator coil from air handler uni
Called out today to perform a tune up. Checked all electronics and motor components to ensure proper operation. Cleared drain line. Tested float switch. Measured the temperature drop across the coil and it was extremely low. Went to the roof and checked refrigerant pressures. Found the system low on charge. Gave options to recharge the system and perform a leak search. I did find a leak on the suction line schrader that I correctly. I added two pounds of 410A to bring the system back to normal operation. Added a 50$ coupon for the work performed. Client would like to hold off on a leak search. Equipment is operating properly at this time. Thank you for always choosing Total Air! Add 2 pounds
04/26/24 - Condenser fan motor had a rusted shaft and low amp draw weakening the capacitor. Capacitor was reading 41/4mf. Homeowner stated the condenser fan motors started to slow down and stopped during the call of cooling yesterday. Replacement of the capacitor & condenser fan motor under parts warranty verified. Thank you for choosing Total Air….
Called out today due to the machine constantly running. Upon arrival the client explained that the indoor fan doesn’t shut off and the condenser will not turn on. Found fan switch set to the on position at the thermostat. Thermostat display was blank and non responsive. Bypassed thermostat and tested system operation. Checked all electronics and motor components. Checked refrigerant pressures. Measured the temperature drop across the coil. Gave options to replace the thermostat with our programmable Honeywell or the option to install a client provided thermostat. Spoke with the niece on the phone to translate and she told me to install the thermostat and declined the preventative maintenance plan. Went through the thermostat operation with the homeowner. Showed him how to cycle from cool to heat and how to change the temperature. Equipment is operating properly at this time. Thank you for always choosing Total Air!
Membership maintenance. 3yr old Ruud Split system Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. Took compressor and outdoor fan motor amp draw. Tested capacitor microfarad. Capacitor reading is below manufacturer allowance of 5% reading at 42 out of 45 µF. I would recommend replacement to avoid breakdown in the summer. Tested float switch. Vacuumed and flushed drain line. UV light is working, no sign of damage on the bulb. Evaporator coil and blower wheel are clean. Ductwork is in good shape. Insulation levels are good. The system is running well at this time. Installed new 45/5 µF capacitor under 10 year extended warranty. Restarted system after new capacitor install.
New float switch, new Wi-Fi thermostat, flush and pressure test copper line set, remove and re install trim if necessary, modify supply plenum as needed, new breakers, 2 new hurricane rated condenser pads with blocks and code approved anchors and brackets, new u.v. resistant armaflex on copper outside to prevent cracking, reuse disconnect box, replace filter drier outside, vacuum all moisture to under 500 microns before releasing refrigerant, all permits and inspections are included. No surprise charges, ever. Chris Garris-727-621-0543, please allow us to continue to be your ac provider. We appreciate you Jim.
Called out today due to no cooling. Upon arrival client stated that the system was blowing hot air. They replaced the thermostat with a nest. Checked all electronics and motor components. Nest thermostat was wired incorrectly due to mismatched wires. Inside the air handler they connected orange to blue and white to orange. Outside the reversing valve was stuck in heat position. Unstuck valve by magnetizing the solenoid. Unable to check refrigerant pressures due to inoperable machine. There are tons of splices and mismatched wiring throughout the home. The thermostat wire has to be redone in order to restore proper communication. After wires have been replaced we can fully inspect the system. Office will call to schedule wire replacement. This will take two people (me and wade) about 3/4 hours. Need about 100 feet of 18/8 thermostat wire.
Called out today due to no cooling. Upon arrival client stated that the unit stopped blowing cold about two days ago. I checked all electronics and motor components. I found that the condenser would not turn on although the correct power was being sent outside. Inspected defrost board and found a lizard burnt to the terminals. This machines warranty ended in march of 2022. I gave options for preventative maintenance plans and repairs. Client declined preventative maintenance and chose a one time repair. Installed new defrost board and sensors. Tested system operation. Checked refrigerant pressures. Measured the temperature drop across the coil. Drain line is heavily impacted due to inaccessible clean out. Clogged drain lines lead to breakdowns. Filter is heavily impacted. Condenser coil is impacted and is in need of cleaning. System is operating at this time. Thank you for always choosing Total Air!

Customer needed system to be recharged as he had another contractor doing some work and the contractor let the refrigerant out. I recharge the mini split system back up with 4 pounds of refrigerant. Additionally, he asked if I would also look at his Goodman split system in which I suggested the system also needed an additional 3 pounds of refrigerant. The customer agreed to allow me to recharge that system as well. Total charger, refrigerant for both system was 7 pounds.
